Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Archbishop and Bishops Give Back to Christ Child Society of Atlanta

Christ Child

This past year, our Archbishop and Bishops supported the Run the Race event hosted by Christ Child Society of Atlanta. The donation was made possible by the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Bishop’s Assistance Fund, a quarterly contribution that helps local and national charities advance the mission and good works of the church.  Recipients of The Bishop’s Assistance Fund are selected by the Archbishop and Bishops.

By supporting the Run the Race fundraiser, their donation will further Christ Child Society of Atlanta’s mission of filling unmet needs for children in the Atlanta area. These initiatives impact our archdiocese by providing summer enrichment and literacy-promoting programs at St. Peter Claver in Decatur and St. Mary’s Academy in Fayetteville.

Along with caring for students in our archdiocese, Christ Child Society provides over 250 baby bundles each year to area clinics, maintains an established organic garden and play space at the Elaine Clark Center, and provides tutoring services for at-risk students in the Atlanta area.

“The support of the archdiocese allows us to continue our mission to serve underprivileged children of the greater Atlanta area. We are truly grateful for your support”

—Patti Anhut, Run the Race Chairperson, Christ Child Society of Atlanta

Christ Child Society of Atlanta puts their faith into action by being the hands and feet of Jesus and does this by nurturing the smallest of minds and hearts in our local schools and community.

The Bishop’s Assistance Fund supports the work of evangelization, serving the poor, and advancing the mission of the Church with the common focus of enabling others to do good works locally and throughout the United States.
