Dei Beneficia – Donor Appreciation Event
What a Day ! Seven lifetime donors and others were honored at the Archdiocese Dei Beneficia event hosted by the Office of Mission Advancement on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
Donors from the Bishops’ and Archbishop’s circles and Bonus Samaritanus (Good Samaritan) and Lifetime level givers were recognized for their generous contributions to our Archdiocese.
Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, Bishop Joel Konzen, Bishop Bernard Shlesinger, and Bishop John Tran concelebrated a beautiful Mass at Saint Peter Chanel Church in Roswell, followed by brunch and awards.
Deacon Rick Medina, Chief Advancement Officer, spoke of the Office of Mission Advancement’s sincere gratitude for our incredible donors’ generosity over the years and how vital that support is to funding ministries, programs, and special projects that benefit many families throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
“Through the support of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, we educate Seminarians studying to become our future priests; empower those in need from poverty to self-sufficiency through ministries like Catholic Charities; and we partner with our parishes, schools and ministries to support the growing Catholic population in our area.”

The Office of Mission Advancement is responsible for raising funds for projects outside the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal scope. Some of the projects we completed include:
Repainted the exterior and added brand-new HVAC units at the Purification Heritage Church. The Purification Heritage church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in Georgia.
Installed new cabinets and appliances for the common-area of the low-income senior housing at St. Joseph’s Place. Our seniors have not had a place to gather since this common area was closed at the start of the Covid pandemic.
Started work to expand the reach of our campus ministries to serve more college students. We have ambitious plans to improve the excellence and support we want to provide our college students.
Helped Corpus Christi Church in Stone Mountain to replace the 50-year-old floors in their rectory, administrative, and religious education buildings.
The need is great, and Christ sends us forth on a mission to spread the Gospel and build up His Church. For every completed project, more arise for parishes in lower-income communities that need our help or apostolates like Campus Ministry. We are blessed to have wonderful benefactors who help us meet the many needs of the church.
