Seminarians
The Office of Vocations supports the work of the Archdiocese of Atlanta through its commitment to fostering quality, faithful, and lasting vocations to the priesthood. They are a vital piece in ensuring the future of our faith. Seminarians are funded partly through contributions to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.
Our archdiocese is blessed with a strong program for priestly formation, but it takes both time and resources to form the priests that will lead our parishes in the years to come and keep our heritage, practices, and traditions alive.
Our seminarians bear witness to those in the archdiocese as they share their journey with Jesus and their process of discernment toward priesthood. This year we are praying for over 30 seminarians who are in various stages of their formation and studying to be priests. These men will dedicate their lives to the faithful and eventually carry the message of our Lord and salvation forward. Your contribution to the Annual Appeal helps to form the future of our faith.
A Seminarian's Journey
The average seminarian prepares for the priesthood through discernment, activities, and studies for 7 years. Their commitment to preparation and sacrifice is a source of joy to the parishes where they will eventually share the Gospel of Christ, administer the sacraments, and comfort those in spiritual and material need.
Our archdiocese is blessed with a rich and growing seminarian program to carry His love to the people of God and all those whom they encounter.
