Pregnancy Aid Clinic’s Sarah Weikert on Saving and Changing Lives in the Atlanta Area

Sarah Weikert Pregnancy Aid Clinic

Somewhere in our Archdiocese is a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. She may be homeless, financially struggling, facing domestic violence, or not have the support of her family. Frightened and overwhelmed, she may feel her only option is to terminate her pregnancy.

Sarah Weikert has devoted her career to these expecting mothers and families as the Executive Director of the Pregnancy Aid Clinic (PAC). With three clinics across the Atlanta area, Sarah leads a devoted team that provides compassionate care and life-affirming support to thousands of clients.

“[PAC is] more than just a clinic. It is a safe haven and a source of hope for women and men facing crisis and unplanned pregnancies.”

— Sarah Weikert, Executive Director, Pregnancy Aid Clinic

Weikert’s passion for protecting life came at a young age. She vividly remembers seeing her mother rally her friends, using a rotary phone and phonebook in their kitchen, to march for life. Witnessing her parents’ heavy involvement in the pro-life ministry at their church continues to inspire her years later.

The people who enter the Roswell, Forest Park, or Atlanta clinical locations come with heavy hearts and feel they have no options left. With 77% of clients identified as abortion-vulnerable, the clinic’s staff offers free, comprehensive care that nurtures the whole person —mind, body, and spirit.

Their life-changing services include:

  • Medical services: Free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and STI testing
  • Educational programs: Classes on parenting, financial empowerment, FEMM (Fertility Education and Medical Management)
  • Community events: Baby showers and access to the PAC Boutique at each location, open to the public
  • Support programs: The Fatherhood Program, Year of Hope, and Post-Abortion Healing, all offering mentoring and guidance

“We’re so blessed to have the endorsement of the archdiocese [and are thankful to] have a great, wonderful relationship with the Bishops and the Archdiocese of Atlanta.”

—Sarah Weikert, Executive Director, Pregnancy Aid Clinic

The mission is clear, and the impact is huge. A powerful story Weikert recalls is of a pregnant client and her partner grappling with the termination of their jobs while raising their two-year-old child. Feeling hopeless, they felt abortion was their only option.

Pregnancy Aid Clinic enrolled them in the Year of Hope program, a donor-supported initiative that helped them find an affordable apartment, covered their moving costs, and paid their first month’s rent. Along with both finding employment, they felt confident in being able to keep their baby. They credit the Pregnancy Aid Clinic for saving their lives and are grateful for the life-changing love and support.

Without the Pregnancy Aid Clinic, our community would lose a vital source of hope and compassion. Expecting mothers and families unable to receive maternity leave, facing eviction from their homes, and many more unfortunate circumstances would not have the resources and support they desperately need. Critical resources such as paying rent during a client’s maternity leave, Uber rides to job interviews, an educational program for expecting fathers, or childcare resources would not be as accessible to a vulnerable population in our Archdiocese.

“They come in determined they have no options, and then change their minds. Seeing a mother find hope and confidence in such a challenging situation, or a father embrace his role…I think those are the [most joyous] moments.”

—Sarah Weikert, Executive Director, Pregnancy Aid Clinic

Sarah recalls a profound example of a client who found herself in an unplanned pregnancy. When she met with her advocate, she was scared and embarrassed to tell her father the news. When the client felt abortion was her only option, her advocate challenged her with the question, “What if?”.

Sarah champions the women and men who walk into the Pregnancy Aid Clinics to ask themselves, “What if?”. What if there is another option? What if people are waiting to love and support these expecting parents? What if we can save more lives through accessible resources and life-changing help?

Sarah is prayerful in her desire to nurture countless struggling families who need to see the hands and feet of Christ more than ever. She thanks the donors and volunteers who have walked together with the Pregnancy Aid Clinic as they work to change and save lives throughout our community.
