Respect Life Ministry
Human life must be cherished and protected, beginning from the womb. The Respect Life Ministry supports the work of the Archdiocese of Atlanta by providing lifesaving resources to mothers and the preborn. The ministry is supported through contributions to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. The Respect Life Ministry opens its arms and uplifts some of the most vulnerable populations by positively affirming each person's divinely given uniqueness and dignity, based on Pope St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body.
The Respect Life Ministry supports the work of local parishes to accompany pregnant and parenting moms in difficult situations. The Respect Life Ministry offers support to parishes implementing the Walking with Moms in Need program created by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). With the help of selfless volunteers across our archdiocese, parishes help with baby supplies, rent assistance, crisis intervention, and emotional and spiritual support for mothers in need.
The Respect Life Ministry is responsible for vetting Pregnancy Resource Centers in cooperation with the Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Donation Initiative. Through this program, many local Pregnancy Resource Centers have received free ultrasound machines, which help mothers receive care at pregnancy centers that align with the Catholic faith and teachings. There are 83 life affirming pregnancy centers in the state of Georgia.

Respect Life Ministry
The Respect Life Ministry proudly champions the devotion the Catholic Church holds for the protection of the preborn. Every year, the ministry hosts the Mass for the Preborn in January to pray for the most defenseless members of our society and celebrate the sanctity of life. The Respect Life Ministry also serves as a Committee Head for the Georgia March for Life (1,200+ attendees in 2024). The passion to preserve life is reflected in many parish Respect Life ministries across the archdiocese.
Respect Life is the voice for the voiceless and the vulnerable in our archdiocese. During their time of uncertainty, Respect Life provides stability, and a path to find the love and support they need to live fully in the image of God. The works of Respect Life bring light across our archdiocese as they weave churches and communities together to celebrate and promote the sanctity of all life.
