Second Collections
Local Diocesan Collections
The Archdiocese of Atlanta asks for your generosity in supporting these local programs and ministries throughout the year.

Catholic Charities Atlanta
Catholic Charities provides the support families need to get back on their feet and increase their likelihood of achieving self-sufficiency. Through after-school programs that improve reading skills, workforce initiatives that provide a path to employment, coaching that brings financial security, parenting skills that keep children safe, resources so Veterans can stay housed, legal relief for survivors of domestic violence, resources that enable food security, and much more, Catholic Charities gives families the hand up they need to stabilize and thrive.

Catholic Mission Outreach
In 2022 and 2023, your generosity to Catholic Mission Outreach (formerly Mission Cooperative Program) enriched the lives of the most vulnerable in 37 dioceses from 20 countries. Your funding is the financial fuel to help assist dioceses in most need, from religious orders of men and women serving worldwide to local dioceses and ministries in financial crises.
Hispanic Ministries
The Archdiocesan Hispanic Ministries offers pastoral services such as religious education, evangelization programs, the Sacraments, and the Eucharist in their language and culture for their spiritual support and integration into parish life to a Hispanic population estimated at over 500,000 residents.
Saint Vincent de Paul Society
St. Vincent de Paul has been serving Georgia for more than 120 years and provides vital programs to feed, shelter, clothe, and educate the poor with a spirit of compassion, respect, and dignity. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul empowers people to achieve stability and self-sufficiency regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, or faith.
Archdiocesan Seminarians
Our nearly 40 Archdiocesan Seminarians are responding to a call for priestly service to the people of God in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Your generosity supports our Seminarians as they go through formation which, in return, will form the priests who will lead our parishes in the years to come and keep our heritage, practices, and traditions alive.
USCCB and other National Collections
USCCB and other National Collections are an opportunity to support the good news of the Church at home and around the world and we rightfully trust the faithful to make wise and deliberate decisions about their charitable works.
Black and Indian Missions
Black and Indian Missions works to build the Church and preach the Gospel of Jesus among the African American, Native American, and Alaska Native people of God. When you donate, you contribute to our archdiocese’s efforts to support parish life and catechists, empowering evangelizers, and encouraging vocations for this community in our church.
Campaign for Human Development
More than 37 million people in the United States live in poverty. The Campaign for Human Development supports programs that address the root causes of poverty and provide a sustainable future for those struggling across the country. In addition, 25% of the funds we collect remain in our diocese to fund local antipoverty projects.
Catholic Communications
Catholic Communications engages and builds Catholic communities in the United States and developing countries using the internet, television, radio, and print media. Half of the money collected remains here in the Archdiocese of Atlanta to fund local communications efforts.
Catholic Home Mission
The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports dioceses in the United States that face fragile financial situations, vast distances, or rugged terrain that significantly impacts their ability to offer the most basic pastoral programs to the faithful. Today, nearly 40% of dioceses in the United States and its territories cannot fund the essential pastoral work their communities need. Your support helps them meet these faith formation and sacramental needs.
Catholic Relief Services
Catholic Relief Services works to provide food to the hungry, support displaced refugees, bring Christ’s love and mercy to struggling communities, and work toward peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters in the United States and abroad.
Catholic University of America
Catholic University is a national research university with over 5,700 undergraduate and graduate students in more than 250 academic programs in the heart of Washington, D.C. By giving to the collection, you are supporting future Catholic leaders, both religious and lay, who are being formed by an exceptional, faith-rooted education and the University’s various research and training initiatives that support dioceses and parishes in responding to the most pressing needs of their faithful.
Church in Latin America/Central and Eastern Europe/World Missions
This second collection is a combination of three collections. Our offerings support the local priests, religious, and lay catechists in these regions who selflessly give up all for the sake of our Lord and his Gospel and provide loving service to the poor and suffering.
Holy Land
Through our Palm Sunday Second Collection, you support the Holy Land Franciscans who support Catholics in parishes and schools, maintain Christian shrines, and care for refugees in the Holy Land. This collection is divided equally between the USCCB-designated Commissariat of the Holy Land and the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land.
Peter’s Pence
Through the Peter’s Pence collection, we can support the charitable works of Pope Leo XIV and our Universal Church. This includes uplifting our brothers and sisters on the margins of society, including victims of war, oppression, and disasters.
Retirement Fund for the Religious
Elderly Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests have offered their lives in service to others—educating the young, comforting the sick, and ministering to the less fortunate. Today, many are frail and need assistance. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious helps them receive medications, nursing care, and more.
