Funded in part by the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal and a compassionate donor, your generosity provided 64 individuals with disabilities the incredible opportunity to attend this year’s Toni’s Camp Retreat. Campers venture each summer to Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia, where they participate in a weekend full of spiritual, social, and recreational activities— including everyone’s favorite, ziplining!

This year’s theme was “Yes Lord, you know that I love you (John 21:15)” and was featured on lovingly crafted t-shirts and coasters created by campers during Arts & Crafts. The handprints of the campers were memorialized on the altar cloth for Sunday Mass celebrated by Father Dan Ketter.

With 47 adult volunteers, 56 teen volunteers, 2 clergy, one soon-to-be deacon, and your generous support, individuals from 23 different parishes from across the Archdiocese of Atlanta (and one from the Diocese of Savannah) worked together to make Toni’s Camp Retreat a summer experience to remember!

Along with furthering the Disabilities Ministry, your giving continues the ecumenical work of the Church, where all are welcome. This year, 44% of campers and 30% of teenage volunteers were non-Catholic. Campers came from 16 different counties and a variety of ethnic backgrounds, including Hispanic, Korean, and Vietnamese. Toni’s Camp Retreat also accommodated 14 individuals from St. Mary’s Independent Living Extensions (SMILE) day program and several Spanish-speaking families from El Campamento de Jesús for Mass and lunch during the weekend.
